CD:Yes, there will definitely be changes. Unfortunately, I fear that they will be increasing the size of the first matrix. I have already seen that the second prize will be increased to $250,000, and that would mean they're making it harder to win that prize (hence the larger prize). I assume they'll also lower the Mega Ball matrix. I'm expecting odds somewhere in the 1 in 150 million range. I'm not liking that too much, but what are you going to do

The 47 million (47.4) is off the really good lottery results page right here at lottopost. If you have the time you can just add up the total jackpots and get the same results. I think that people dreaming of 400 or even 300 million jackpots are doing just that with the current game. The massive jackpot they keep hyping was before NY, NJ OH, WA, TX and the new states joined. In fact it was just 6 states so very few players.

I don't have any stats to back it up, but my gut feeling is that the average jackpot win has been significently lower since NY TX came on board - even with the matrix change. The odds are already so far out there, that jacking them up really does make that much difference. I don't play MM or PB for the small wins, its the ideal of chasing a big jackpot that thrills me and the members of my pools. I can get more people to play when the jackpot is high, and I like having more tickets.... [ More ]

I hope they change it to anything else other than a $2 price ticket. The game needed to be changed BEFORE California. Now with California the average jackpot will really fall. I think we will see yet another year of low jackpots. The average mega pot is already $6 million less than powerball. With each added state it gets lower. If I had to pick it would be a 5/60 plus 1/33 that would give enough space on the play forms to have a void area incase of mistakes.
