Yes! I know someone here won it. I was like wow! oh my god finally someone in LA won the jackpot. Everything is wrong with winning in NY. because it's in the north. Everytime there's a powerball jackpot it's somewhere other than the south.

speaking of a 3rd game, maybe they can have a national lottery that's in all states with jackpots like that, in addition to mega millions and powerball. but then if that happened i might not be too happy living in Louisiana and seeing jackpots always being won in CA, PA, NY, and FL.

i think the jackpots would end up being split twice as often as they are now. i prefer having the two different lotteries; its nice to be able to compare jackpots and payouts against one another.

It would be worse because they would raise ticket prices, raise the numbers pool and make less winners. But if they could create a 400+ million jackpot I would probably play. But I wouldn't play all the time since my state hasn't won a grand prize in awhile. My chances of actually winning the jackpot are very unrealistic. At least now when powerball goes back to its minimum I can track mega millions.

you can also get powerball in the outskirts of DC. Mike,I don't think powerball and mega will every merge. There might be a national lottery one day but not in the for seeable future. And not until all states have come on board with a state lottery. Then there might be a merger. Getting some of the bible states to adopt a lottery has hit many snags allready. A national lottery with a great payout structure would be neat.

I really hope they don't ever merge. I live in Maryland and play Mega Millions in my home state and Powerball in close by Pennsylvania. I like having multi-million dollar jackpots going 4 nights a week. Now if we just could get an additional national lottery to draw on Monday's and Thursday's, then I would only be bored on Sunday evenings
