The blue/red state thing has no bearing on lotteries. Some of the red states have the best lotteries available. Plus, soon they'll all be red states anyway, so it doesn't matter.

No. Alaska is very sparsely populated, and starting up a lottery would be a logistic nightmare. As for Hawaii, a lot of their citizens are against it, depite being a strong blue state. Go figure

i see oklahoma joining powerball,oklahoma would be considered one of the smaller to mid size states,they definitely aren't in the same realm as new york,illinois,florida,texas or california for sure.

Mega Millions said they would only let one more state join. That's would be CA. But if that would change, OK might actually make sense for both games. Powerball would be the best fit, but Mega Millions wouldn't be total lark either.
