i live in tennessee right on the three way border of mississippi,tennessee and arkansas,yep arkansas and mississippi are missing out,an arkansas resident came to memphis and won 100,000 on a powerball ticket about a month or two back,person was from west memphis arkansas

It's only a matter of time before MS officials come to grips with the fact that MS people are going to gamble whether they have to go to another state and do it or not.No politician can watch money leaving the state in the millions for very long when it could easily be theirs, with the possible exception of Utah. I can't see the Mormon majority there ever allowing it.

Mississippi is arguing about the tobacco money that needs to go to what Mike Moore argued and won for the state for. Tobacco education, treatment, etc. It should not be used to bale out other state entities like Medicaid. Medicaid could uses proceeds from the lottery and our education system could certainly use it. I do not think that the casinoes will find it a problem because they are either on Reservations or in the water. The neighboring state of Louisiana has casinoes and the lotttery.... [ More ]
