While most of us are agreement on this topic and of not suing. There is one point I want to bring that Jack is or couold be responsible for and that is where the dvent(s) took place. While he is wealthy, regardless of his wealth if an indiviual allows knowingly or otherwise criminal acts(drug use) to take place on their property they may be hald liable in some form civil or criminal. If Jack knew that Brandi was using drugs, giving her access to all that money was tantamount to handing her a needle and saying shoot up. Depending on what he was aware of he might bear some responsibility for this.I disagree with much of the anti-lawsuit here. I know a pile of money isn't going to bring anybody back from the dead, but sometimes money is the only thing people understand and they need a blow to their wallets to be deterred.

It says a lot about the parents of the young man, trying to cash in on the death of their son to win their own lottery. Those people know full well the rich man had nothing to do with what the youth did to himself. I think he had this one coming.If he wasn't a lottery winner he would probably not have been sued.The case is of course more complicated than that since it's his money which supposedly is to blame for the drug overdose.

Dr., I see where spoiling them too much can be a horrible thing but it would definitely be something that you would do to some degree. I guess that if old Jack knew that it was going on and still gave her the means to get it then he is partly responsible for HER death. I really doubt that he knew about it though. I think Jack was human and just made a human error, he shouldn't be sued for some other kid, he will always deal with more pain than we all know for not being there when Brandi died, that's the tradgey. I agree with the fact that all humans are reponsible for their own actions. HOWEVER, you cannot claim ignorance on your OWN PROPERTY. Spoil you kids is great, grandkids, great, allowinn drug actions to take place on your premesis not great. I think Jack was too busy at strip clubs to see what was happening around him. In defense of ole Jack, what grandparent wouldn't spoil the grand kids after winning the nations largest jackpot? How the hell was he suppose to stop some kid from pushing junk through his veins? Best thing Jack could do is settle. I'm not a huge fan of putting lawyers kids though college while mine go to the local community. He would be better served going pro-se and settling out of court then at least no lawyers get the money.
