I believe 110 winners is a record. I checked the three previous record Powerball jackpots of $314.9, $295.7 and $294.8 million. Those three draws all had fewer than 110 winners. The largest had 91 second tier winners.Now there may be another draw that did not have a large jackpot with more than 110 second tier winners. If there was a higher number, I expected to find it when tickets sales were at their highest (that is, record jackpots).Good luck,Jake

I think that it WILL be interesting to see the percentage of those picks that were computer-generated. There SHOULD be approximately 75% Quick Picks, so the actual distribution will determine if the numbers were popular ages (or something like that), or if there is a problem with the random number generators in the lottery machines favoring certain numbers.

WOW! My mouth dropped when I saw that 110 people won second prize. What is up with that. There had to have been a computer glitch or something. I mean those numbers aren't special in anyway. you mean that 1000 or more people couldn't have family members whose ages are22-28-32-33-39 or intermixed age numbers and birth dates. I'm sure not all were computer generated. it could have been still it would make no difference a computer in DC supposedly dosen't comunicate with a computer in PA. when you buy a quick pick you get a specific set of numbers from that machines random number generator.

The difference would be if they were self-picks, what is it about those numbers that caused that many people to pick them. They aren't all low numbers (31 and below) so they aren't just birthday type numbes. If they are computer picks, it would seem like a glitch to have that combination picked that many times when it hasn't happened before.

It dosen't sound or look odd to me i said it before that the games could do this and probably will again. If the numbers had been 10 20 30 40 50 pb 25 i bet the amount of winners would be 4 times what they were.

and i just id the math. they are correct. 110 tickets matched 5 white balls. that's $11 million (without taking power play into account) that the states will give out to players just from second prizes. anyone come up big

This has got to be some kind of record for such a low jackpot. I have only been playing powerball for two months, but I'm ready for a change. If the powerball people wont change things...I will. I'll move to NJ so I can play MegaMillions.
