Yeah, unfortunately, with a cash only jackpot game, the jackpot would not appear to increase as fast as a traditional annuity jackpot. It's all about marketing.

12 tier prizes? That's it? I could see up to 15 tier prizes as a result of a 5/39+2/25 structure: Prizes paid for matching: 5+2 (jackpot), 5+1, 5+0, 4+2, 4+1, 4+0, 3+2, 3+1, 3+0, 2+2, 2+1, 1+2, 1+1, and 0+2

I think the average quick-pick lottery player would love it. It's a deceptively simple matrix...great for the hordes of lottery addicts.You could set up lower tier prizes for matching just 1 of the bonus balls.

Out of all that hogwash, I do like the 2 megaball/powerball idea.A 5/39 + 2/25 matrix has odds of 1:172,727,100...very comparable to the proposed MM changes. I guarantee sales would climb because people would think they have a better shot. What? You're telling me all I have to do is a standard Match 5/39 and then pick two other lousy numbers? Cake

sleepingdogslie is right, they should raise the odds of mm to at least 1:1,000,000,000 since it's sooooo easy to win. ACTUALLY:I think the odds are too high. Go figure that only 2 people have won this year compared to pb's 7.

If Mega Millions is so damned easy to win, then why are players winning at the slowest rate ever this year? This is the third straight run that made it past $100 million, something that has never happened before in either multi-state game. There have been only 2 MM jackpot winners so far this year, compared to Powerball's seven. I say the new 5/56 + 1/46 matrix is enough
