Yes, it's all luck. In fact, luck worked in favor of Powerball last drawing - they had 31 tickets that were just the powerball away and 147 tickets that were just one white ball away from winning it all, yet the jackpot still rolled. It just shows that luck goes both ways. I'll bet they changed the matrix not necessarily just because of the string of lucky wins, but because Mega Millions was changing as well, and they don't want Mega Millions getting several $150+ million jackpots while they... [ More ]

You got that right they panicked. Lottery directors were floored when the smaller pots were won and reacted feverishly without taking statistics into consideration. Lottery directors from both games may have made a big mistake in changing the matrix. Because if smaller jackpots are won with the new matrix where do they go from there.Making it harder to win is not my idea of increasing profits. Also the cost of new promotions and supplies for the new matrix are going to eat some of their profit f... [ More ]

Good point. Even with a larger matrix they may have a winning run like they had earlier this year. No one really knows.

This is why I find it ridiculous when they go and change the game format after a string of lucky wins.In my opinion, the Powerball matrix is just fine as-is, and this jackpot run shows that. Now they're going to make the game harder to win - unnecessarily. Again, my opinion.

I agree, strange to see Powerball back on top! Here's the link to the Jackpots page, to see every jackpot in the USA, Cananda, and UK (sorted any way you wish):https://www.lotterypost.com/jackpots(There are still a few dead games in that list I need to remove.

It's about time we see Powerball on top again! However, if nobody wins Illinois Lotto tonight, then I still won't play Powerball even if nobody wins that either, as the Illinois Lotto will be at least $37.5 million for Monday and I don't play either multi-state game if I'm playing Lotto unless the multi-state jackpot is at least double the Lotto jackpot.

WOW, I had to rub my eyes for a second. Powerball is up to $47 million for tonight. Lets hope no one wins and maybe it could go up over $50 million. Then maybe we can have all the people form MM states play Powerball for a change. (And keep powerball players at home).
