I think the reason for the move is that PA will unveil a new game and my hunch is that it will be a Keno game similar to NY's.

WA Lucky for Life scratch (which replaced online Unlucky for Life) has a cash option. OH has a $4 million cash option for a 5k-a-week scratch game.

The reason it's getting less than savory sales is because it forces people into the instant win feature, hence the $2 price. Maybe it would do better if it was $1. Or better yet, increase the top prize and add a cash option. Wait, how do you add a cash option for a for-life game? Eh, who cares. Just make it $1.

They are obviously giving it a second chance to try and boost sales. Perhaps the fact that they saw a third jackpot winner recently may help things out.They use a ball machine to draw the numbers. I don't see why so few people are winning.

i think it's a good idea. PA was nuts to think that holding a game on the same nights as powerball was a good idea. i think it is a temporary solution, and could increase sales, but in the end, PA will realize that they either need to scrap the game, or increase the top prize. a cash option might work, but for such a small annuity, it won't be much.
