Yeah, as someone here once said 175 million to one odds isn't much worse than 135 million to one for a single ticket, but it makes a difference in how high the jackpot level will go.

Much much, better, Lottomike.Some people say that $2 of tickets is not better than $1. So odds of 175m:1 are no worse than 135m:1...hehe

I thought they should have changed the matrix a long time ago. I'm just hoping for a new and improved jackpot level to go along with the change in odds. Then I can start playing again.

It will be easier to match the megaball, even though there are more regular numbers.

The core part of my lottery program can handle up to 60 numbers in the 5/6+0 or 5/6+1, but I have a section which simulates the card layout for the 5 games that I play to make marking my cards easier that will have to be updated. Those changes will include both MegaMillions and PowerBall layouts. OhioSuperLotto have 2 different card layouts, one for the 10 play card and one for the 5 play card.

I'm looking at my Excel spreadsheet and running out of rows.16 Mega Millions drawings remain....just 16. Eight weeks. Less than two months. Yes, it will be sad to lose all of the work on this matrix, but I know that the new jackpots will get a huge kick from the Cali sales and we'll all have forgotten about the oldstyle Mega Millions by August.
