Exactly. That's another reason why I'd work a little while longer, to keep myself grounded. Once I got everything squared away, I'd work a few more months after collecting the money. I want time to get over the initial shock of winning so I won't go nuts with the money. In addition, I'd work after collecting the money so as not to draw suspicion to myself. Yes I would. Don't have a choice though, as Singapore's biggest lottery jackpot happens only once a year and is only at 10 million and most likely to be shared by up to 10 winners. If it's as big as those seen in the Americas, then you'd bet that I'll pay my boss to let me quit within 24 hours.

I certainly would quit my current wage-slave job but would probably continue to work in a different capacity, perhaps overseeing my own business.Work isn't work if you really enjoy it... but these guys who win a hundred million dollars and say they'll continue to work in their factory or whatever.. you gotta be kidding me.

Depends on the job and whether they would allow you to stay. Public school teachers, for instance, are encouraged to quit immediately by the school system for liability reasons. If you offend one of the kids, the parents could sue you and the school system. A lot of jobs are like that. Your exposure to a lawsuit would make a normal workday impossible, even if you like your job. Kind of sad . . .Orangeman

I enjoy doing what I do although I guess people call it work...I would continue to go to school.. I would continue to teach. I would probably open up a private school to keep crazy parents from interrupting my day. As for the parttime jobs.. I would find something else to do with my time.. lol

I would still work in my career (dentistry) but offer my services for free. There are a lot of underserved areas where people cannot afford to have their teeth cared for. Of course, I would need to win a pretty big jackpot to run a practice totally for free given the enormous overhead (employees, supplies, etc.).

A lot of the pleasures in life involve work a person doesn't 'have to' do. The alternative is to fall into a sloth position and not come out until it thunders. I would probably wait a few months until after I collected my winnings before quitting my job. I'd collect the money anonymously and would wait until the excitement of a ticket bought locally winning died down. I would continue to work. To be able do that you would have to like your job or get a job you will like. If you got a boring factory job I can understand you would consider quit the job.There's a difference between working for a living and living for working. If I quit work after I won a 100+ million jackpot, I think I woud get bored pretty soon. I would instead study further and try to obtain a job which I would enjoy. Also, making sure you retain your new found wealth for years to come is a job in itself.I would definitely go back to school to take a couple of finance classes and maybe accounting. Why would you work? Work is Work not life.... experience life with true freedom and the burdon of having to work.... You will get another job and that is to controll you money that in itself its own job. People lose their money all the time. Lotto winners are the worst at keeping it. Be smart. Why work for someone else when you have to take care of yourself you close family

I voted Yes - but here is a clarification. I would countinue to work until I had the actual money in hand. Then I would make the decision about continuing. I've given this a lot of thought in the past, and I think simply knowing that I could quit if I wanted to, would sustain me for awhile. I like my job (IT department at a software company). Most of my friends I know thru work (been at the same company for 25 years). Why give that up
