the casinos are so powerful that a lottery will probably never ever happen in nevada,it cuts into the casino piece of the pie and the casinos will NOT let that happen ever......

Tnplayer805 -Nevada has tried to establish a state lottery with the proceeds directed toward education, but the measure hasn't passed the state legislature, mainly due to intensive lobbying by casino interests. If I'm not mistaken the last attempt was made last year.glj

Unless I start seeing lower casino gambling ages (like 18, where it should be), I don't want to see them getting any bigger.

Why doesn't Nevada have a State Lottery? I might have missed this somewhere. You would think if they had that much gambling they would atleast have a state lottery. Hmm.

If the casinos were to get into state lotteries the payout percentages would be amongst the lowest of any casino game. There are a few million-dollar 10-spot Keno games where the payout percentage is lower, but these aren't common. The only lottery in Nevada, for instance, is Nevada Numbers, a 5/80 game available at casinos across the state. I'm not too big on casinos. I like to support state lotteries because a good percentage goes to Education here in TN. In a casino it really doesn't have that affect. Just my thoughts though.

i was thinking what if they had a thing at the casinos where you could bet on all states lotteries and the lotteries got a percentage of the profit....

States have the monopoly on lotteries. Would you guys support casinos getting in on the actions? I'll use Harrahs for an example. It's a chain of casinos across the country. Would you want them to conduct their own lottery with bi-weekly drawings? And if they did, do you think it would be successful
