Hot Lotto isn't really similiar since the odds are very different. The idea of drawing a pair of blue balls sounds more like a bad joke than a lottery. Are the people here really believing that this game is for real

This just sounds too wierd. It sounds so unlikely that this game even exists let alone anyone would play at the higher price.

I was talking about some of the states defecting from Mega Millions and joining the Blue Game (and by default Powerball).

Hot Lotto is even more similar to Powerball than the Blue Game is. At least the Blue Game draws 2 extra balls (let's call them Blue Balls) as opposed to 1, and has both annuity and cash prizes for matching 5. I really hope this game is televised. They will not lower the price, because they couldn't fund the increased 2nd tier price with a $1 bet.I am not too excited about this game. I have no desire to pay $2 per ticket for a lotto game with such long odds, and they will certainly not lure Mega Millions players away. It won't even be played in Mega Millions states

I highly doubt they'd lower the price to $1. That's what Powerball is for.
