Not everybody in general sniff and turn up their noses at jackpots less than $100M because if they did, those starting jackpots of $10M would never grow to $100M+. The facts are a lot of people buy tickets when the jackpot is $10M and a lot more buy more tickets when the jackpot is $100+. Most states say pick3 is their most popular game and the most it pays is $500. There are many player here at lottery post who have posted 50 pick3 combinations and are happy to get a box hit.

Okay guys, I have a question. I'm serious. This is a question that may get me stoned. But here it is....Why is it that everybody in general seems to get all excited when the jackpot is 100 million or more, but they sniff and turn up their noses at less, and say the jackpot is too small ?Personally, I just play my 3 bucks each draw, and I don't even generally think about what the jackpot is...I mean, it is my understanding that the minimum jackpot for PB is 10 million bucks. So, even if half o... [ More ]

In Ohio, I have visited retailer that don't put out play slips until a customer ask for them or don't carry enough money to cash winning lottery tickets over $50. I usually stop buy lottery tickets at those places since I prefer to cash my winning tickets where I buy them. According to the Ohio's website, play slips should be available at each retailer and they should be able to cash winning lottery tickets up to $600.

Same thing in TN. You can only cancel a ticket if it's a cash 3 or cash 4. Some retailers here will fill out the slip for you if you have trouble with it. Mostly older people have trouble filling the slips out. I was at a retailer about two weeks ago and someone had filled a play slip out in red and it wouldn't go through. The cashier didn't know why and the customer didn't know why so I finally had to explain to them it only works with black or blue ink or pencil.

I've been in stores that will not accept a verbal request for lottery tickets unless it's QP's. They require buyers with custom orders to fill out cards to avoid having to cancel and reenter their requests. In Ohio, once a MegaMillions ticket is printed it can't be canceled, some one has to buy it.RJOh

OH I have a story for you.Last year when the lottery started there was only one cashier and someone bought a book of $1 scratch offs. They brought in all those winners. (Don't know how many total). They didn't scratch off the bottom numbers or anything and I had to wait 45 min to pay for my gas. I wanted to shoot someone. Now I try to pay at the pump as much as possible.
