Playing a mere $1 for a $46 million 6/59 game doesn't make sense to me. NY Lotto players should start pulling out the stops until it's hit.I agree with JS9 about the prize percentage problem: it is the legislature. However, the NY Lottery, being a political organization of sorts, could lobby strongly to increase the prize pool, and I don't get the feeling that they do. From the customer service responses I've seen, they bend over backwards to justify their situation, rather than to sympathize... [ More ]

It's the fault of the state legistlature from what I understand. They have to approve every game before it's put on the market, and are very stingy about prize payouts. They just don't understand the mechanics of the lottery system. If you live in New York, I urge you to contact your state congressperson, and let the New York Lottery know you're doing so. Let them know you want higher payouts.

If the NY lottery actually does read this they should know that if they did what Florida is doing and raised payouts which equals great publicity and more winners than they would have even more profits. I am an ex NY'er and never play any of their games when home as the payouts and odds are horrocious. Take Five is the only game I would even think of playing . With the population NY has it could make a fortune if properly run. Instead they would rather just pillage hard working NYers. Now won... [ More ]

I just wanted to get something off my chest. I know NY lottery officials visit LP, and that's cool. This week if we buy $5 of Lotto, we get one free Take Five QP. That promotion is supposed to bring a smile to people's faces. I get more excited from a supermarket coupon. Although that promotion is better than nothing, I find it almost an insult... just like Mega Millions increasing the base jackpot by a paltry $2 million, instead of $5 million. That doesn't sound too MEGA to me.Anyway back to... [ More ]
