......the beat goes on,the lottery commission would probably suffer in sales if quick pick weren't available but i think the quick pick got very useful once powerball and mega millions hit the scene.

NY Lotto started in 1978. Quick-pick didn't arrive until the late 1980s. Jackpots eventually did rise faster, but have slowed because of increasing disgust at the 40% maximum payback.

well if you wanted to play then you'd only have one option pick your own.they wouldn't never change the quick pick function.

A couple more:7) LP would probably get a lot more site-visitors from people who wished to buy tickets, but didn't want to have to come up with numbers.8) There's also probably be a lot more sales of those little hand held digital lottery number generators you see around.9) The fortune cookie industry would be working three shifts.Jack

I sometimes play QP but most of the time I like to use my own random numbers. I like to say if I hit something big it came from my mind and not the computer.

the states do right by having quick picks.like you said in the list it would make lines slower and less people would want to deal with having to fill out the slips.somebody posted that there was a time there were no quick picks so i guess states did see a surge in sales once quick picks came into being.....

I like that option and have used it in the past. It seems to work pretty well with the Fantasy Five. I will pick 2 or 3 of my own numbers and let the computer pick the others. I've gotten several 3 of 5 wins off of this. -Bonnie

Not sure how TN is set up with quick picks, but on games other than Cash 3 4, in Georgia you can choose part of the numbers, select quick pick and the computer chooses the rest. Pretty good when someone reaches an impasse. Bottom line Georgia appreciates everyone's participation in the lottery and will help them spend their lottery $$$ the easiest way possible! I mainly like to get a quick pick at a reference when picking my own numbers. If I don't have a good feeling about the quick pick I am given that's just x numbers I can send to the scrap heap during filtering. If I feel good about the quick pick then I will integrate the numbers from it into what I am already going to play. I still like my own numbers best for the most part. -Bonnie
