pick 3 lottery. i've been to the casino here maybe 4 times in my life. the machines are all rigged when to payout. it's being in the right place at the right time scenario. a couple years ago the government brought a no smoking policy to all bars and casinos. of course, lots of people quit going. they have the vlt's in the bars also. they changed all the machines, brought new ones in and they suck big time. i don't think they payout as much. coincidence?? no smoking= less people= less profits. s... I prefer casion gambling - but the closest real casion (one with table games) is almost 3 hours away in Atlantic City. Too far to go on a regular basis. So I go once in a while and play Mega Millions and Powerball the rest of the time. At the casion I like Blackjack the most. If you play basic stradegy you can make your money last a good while most of the time, and there is the possibility of walking away a winner.

I've been cheated, by the house, at the BJ tables, in both Reno Vegas because I was winning and, I'm far from a professional player. I've even had them refuse to pay out slot winning twice. Now really, playing slots require no skills. They claimed the machines malfunctioned. Those people can get pretty nasty when you start to win their money! I'm talking about winnings in the $200 -$400 range. As a result, I simply don't go to casinos any more.

I prefer Lottery because it's cheaper too play and closer to get too,no Casinos in walking distance around here,and I doubt very seriously people go into Casinos with just $1.00 to play like you can in the Lottery

lottery, when i go to casinos it is too easy to be distracted plus all the other inducements to part me from my money.with lotteries i can set a reasonable limit and be able to fantasize until the next draw, what to do with the winnings.also i like to imagine winning a large amount in one draw rather than collecting in a trickle.this way i can dream of winning every day of the year and not have to travel to play.

I like to support the lottery more than I do a casino. Our lottery in Michigan gives all of its profits to education and education is something I am passionate about. On the other hand the casinos in Michigan are mostly tribal ran. They get all the free stuff they want already. I do gamble at casinos but dont support them (besides financially :) )Brad

Each choice has its pros and cons. For instant gratification, casinos are the answer! You'll know within seconds if your money *hit*. Playing lottery is fun as a speculative venture. You and I agree on a surprising lot of things, Four4me. Although they haven't had them pull me out for a talking to, at times I'd thought they might. But while the pit bosses come and watch my play a lot, the dealers like me at the table pretty well. I push out a good tip on the hands I think are going to win, so the dealers win with me, and the casino where I play is close enough so's I don't have try to do anything big on any single trip. I like gambling period. However both games favor the house. When in a casino if you get on a lucky streak and draw attention to yourself because you are winning the employees start scrutinizing your methods to see if you are cheating. If you continuously win in casinos they think your doing something to beat the odds. Want to kick you out because you are winning. I pick casino lottery. There both fun. I agree, better return at casino. I went to my local casino last night, while I was there a woman hit a progressive five dollar slot for $315,000. Maybe one day my time will come.

It depends.In Norway most of the lottery money goes to sponsor building of stadiums, sportshalls and arenas for amateur sports and to support culture to some degree, while in USA most of it seems to go to education. Sorry I didn't make that clear in the first post.

I like the pay offs better at the Casino. Except, the big jackpot prizes never come close to the lottery. I noticed California Keno has payouts half the size of what Las Vegas Keno offers. By the way, those casino profits may not go to the same places as the states, but it does create jobs, supports local businesses, and does support the same things as state lotteries via taxation. And are you really sure those dollars you thought were going to education didn't get re-allocated to something else... [ More ]

i live less than an hour from tunica casinos and have been there twice.i have probably actually won more on the lottery than i've spent,i won 5 grand last year betting on a cash 3 number ten times then i've won 5 grand in the last couple months since cash 4 started on two 50 cent straight hits for a total of 10 grand won in a little over a year since the tennessee lottery started not counting powerball and lotto 5 winnings
