Howdy Catlover,When trying to figure out the key number, you are trying to figure out one number that will be in the combination that is drawn today. For example: In VA, I am looking for either a 6 or 3 (or possibly both) to show in the midday drawing. If a single (or non-double) combo is drawn (ex. 1-2-3) it takes 36 combos to cover every possibility (if the key number is right) to get a boxed hit.
