Yeah that's true, but that run was on fire due to the record breaking annuity jackpot. The $36 million win put that fire out, so now it's highly unlikely PB will set new records under 5 rolls, at least until its next $300+ million jackpot.

Powerball can easily set new records under 5 rolls. The jackpot was last won at $36 million. That level was reached after 3 rolls. The 4 roll record is only $42 million. If the jackpot was not won at $36 million, the next roll would have broken the record.

I can't even imagine MM rolling 19 times. Jackpot fever would prevent it from happening. Even 18 rolls would be hard to imagine. At 18 you would be looking at 500 million with a cash value of just under 300 million. I think someone would just win it before that happened

There's no way this is going to hit 19 rolls. Even at 18 rolls it would be pushing close to or over 500 with sales covering almost every combination. I think the most it's going to roll is one more time bringing it close or over 400.

We are seeing larger increases a lot now. I mean it isn't even going to take 5 weeks to reach the $100 mark. Even sales are getting faster. If you look at this run compared to last run we are two draws ahead already. Last run we didn't sell over $20 million until the $70+ million draw and on this one we sold over $20 million on the $50+ million draw. California's total sales since joining have been about $94M. This means they've contributed about $30M in cash value to the two jackpots in which they've participated.In California when they changed their game from 6/49 to 6/54 sales went down dramatically. The retreated to 6/51 and did better. Californians are suspicious of long, long, long odds. They do math better than we do.

California's sales (6.3M) in the last MM jackpot were smaller than New Jersey's (8.2M) and less than half of what New York (13.5M) sold.When I lived in California, people got really excited when the jackpot was $60M in their regular state lottery, but I think Californians are very jaded now.Also the price of everything out there is extraordinarily high. For 1M bucks out there you can buy a house covered with graffitti and no yard.

Do you think that the lawsuit that was held against the CA state government will stop California's membership or can California still continue Mega Millions regardless of the lawsuit? I believe that the $294 figure was not the originally predicted jackpot, but instead represents the figure to which the jackpot rose by the end of sales.At this point I'm not sure if the Megamillions people really anticipate how many tickets they will actually sell.If they sell more than they think, they may be bumping the jackpot up.

The last $170 jackpot generated about $49.4M in sales. If this one tracks that (and maybe it won't) and there is a rollover, the next jackpot should be about $220M, I'd guess. I'm sure it will take jackpots over $300M to generate lotto fever.

The more states play MM, the higher the jackpot. I'm glad to see CA participating MM without having the lawsuit shut it down. The matrix and more players makes the jackpot continue to grow faster. Although the odds of winning a prize improves from 1 in 43 to 1 in 39.89, the odds of winning a jackpot increases from 1 in 136 million to 1 in 176 million.

Not every time. When there are lower jackpots Friday's drawings do usually sell more then the next Tuesday's. I believe this is because people get paid on Friday's and its the weekend. Brad
