Yeah that's true, but that run was on fire due to the record breaking annuity jackpot. The $36 million win put that fire out, so now it's highly unlikely PB will set new records under 5 rolls, at least until its next $300+ million jackpot.

If the jackpot was not won at $36 million, the next roll would have broken the record.

I can't even imagine MM rolling 19 times. Jackpot fever would prevent it from happening. Even 18 rolls would be hard to imagine. At 18 you would be looking at 500 million with a cash value of just under 300 million. I think someone would just win it before that happened

Revision of an earlier post since the jackpot size was changed.Mega Millions set a new 16 roll record for the Nov 15 draw at $315 million. The previous 16 roll record was $160 and was set by The Big Game. The 16 roll record for Powerball is $314.9 million (almost identical to the Mega Millions record). At 16, this is the largest number of Mega Millions rolls. The Big Game, though, rolled to a maximum of 19 times. Powerball also rolled a maximum of 19 times.

Any ideas why the trend is lower?Gas prices are way down, lower than before the huricanes. Not a big spending month (ie vacations, back to school, christmas, ect).Maybe people are paying down their debts (I doubt that would happen)?Maybe with the past Powerball run, MM people spent the money across the border states. Has this been a trend before with the two games? Just curious.Stars

We are seeing larger increases a lot now. I mean it isn't even going to take 5 weeks to reach the $100 mark. Even sales are getting faster. If you look at this run compared to last run we are two draws ahead already. Last run we didn't sell over $20 million until the $70+ million draw and on this one we sold over $20 million on the $50+ million draw. Predictions for next jackpots: $65, $80, $98, $115, $140These should be close as long as sales remain as they are.Brad... [ More ]
