Powerball needs North Carolina, as well as every other state that gets a lottery in the future, in order to compete with Mega Millions.

I'm betting, metaphorically, that NC will use balls. This lottery will be under so much scrutiny, that anything that isn't for sure and foolproof will go down. The anti-lottery types will do what it takes to shoot down the lottery, even after it takes off.

Yep.... you figured it out in spite of the cammie job I attempted by only calling it Roadrunner.Care to make a small side bet concerning whether NC has computerized draws, or ball draws? I'm assuming you're talking about Roadrunner Cash. At which I will remind them do not take the computers with you. We don't want NC to finally get a lottery, and then find out it can be rigged very easily.

congratulations to north carolina! hopefully now you will not have to drive to south carolina,virginia and tennessee among other places just to play the lottery.also you would more than likely get powerball....

We can only hope that the children of NC get a more decent education as promised. Although the lottery proceeds may go to education, in reality, the education system does not see more funds, because the state then diverts funds from the general fund toward other purposes -- all the lottery proceeds end up doing is just replacing those funds.

you're welcome Tenaj. I think it's pretty much beyond the stage of fighting now. All the minor odds and ends are coming together. The inevitable is finally becoming a picture, which was once considered a jig-saw puzzle. The children of N.C. will finally have the means of a decent education available to them, thanks to open minds.All i can say is grab them gears and get me to the church on time..

I'm pretty sure it will take at least 6 months to get something in place. Yes, I would like to see the multi-state game too. I'll be glad if they just get anything. It is criminal the way we have to sneak and play the lottery.Tenaj

North Carolina will finally get a lottery according to the Charlotte Observer. N.C. to have lottery, thanks to budget deal . It is about time! They finally came up with something that everyone agreed on. Awesome! Lawmakers will get a copy of the budget by Monday and the Chamber will get it by Wednesday.Tenaj
