A game where 'anyone can beat anyone' isn't a prime target for card gamblers, usually. It's more a dice gambler sort of game characteristic, or a 'which one of those two birds will fly off the limb first' bet. Card gamblers usually want games where '3 elements of the game are skill, risk and luck' are the elements tend to lean to those where skill carries more baggage, risk is highest for the unskilled, and the element of luck has as little influence as possible.

That would be pretty cool. Might bring some visitors to the site who weren't already coming, also. Probably the betting games wouldn't be practical if any money changed hands, but the rest would be challenging. A bit of simulated blackjack and poker would give some of the aficianados an opportunity to demonstrate their prowess, which I'd like to observe and maybe learn from. A number of the LP members are clearly gambling experts in blackjack and poker, judging from their posts. It's a shame... [ More ]

I voted 7 stud. It's been my favorite poker game for about 50 years. I like the fact a group of friends can sit down to play without a casino involved, break it up with draw and 5 stud now and then, but get some decent pots into the mill with 7. But I don't care for the blind aspects of 5 draw, and the short stroke of 5 stud on any habitual basis.Jack

Texas Hold'em is rather fun, but I like the somewhat slower pass of 7 card Stud. I haven't played any of them with real people as yet. Only on Cd.litebets

I like Texas Hold 'Em the best because you get two down [hole] cards. Then 5 community cards are faced up on the table. After 4 rounds of betting [Pre-Flop, After Flop, After Turn, and after river], players can bet and have a showdown. The idea is to make the best five card hand from the seven available [two hole cards + five community cards].
