It's not a no-no list topic, but you can find lots of discussion about it back in the beginning of this year. Try searching on topics with playlot in them, from the past year.

That's exactly what I said, Todd. For those people that want to pay the extra money and take the risk to play something that they can't play locally, then that's an option for them. I don't care to play Powerball myself. Actually, I don't care much for Mega Millions, but I'm playing $2 a week for now. I may stop it.

CD:What if you want to play Powerball? What you're saying is just great, up until the point of trying to play a game that you don't have such easy access to. For Powerball they charge $2.50 per ticket with a 5 ticket minimum. This is what I was talking about. For you, it is worth the risk to pay that to play Powerball instead of having to drive a long distance. For me, it is only a 5-block walk or stop in on my way to somewhere. I play $2 per week on Mega Millions and $2 per week on Super Lotto Plus. I buy advance tickets, so I don't have to purchase the tickets as often.

Todd, thanks for your hard work on this. There is one advantage to consider. With gas as high as it is now, it would be cheaper to pay $2 per ticket than drive from Amarillo to San Jon to play Poweball.Thanks again!Orangeman

Well Jack, what you're proposing would not be legal for a corporation of ANY size to do. It is ILLEGAL to sell USA residents a private lottery -- even over the Internet.The online casinos get away with it because they're like a bunch of swarming gnats -- too small and too many to bring down the hammer on. It appears to me to be a step in the right direction.But, ultimately, I'd like to see some up front, reputable corporate entity that's willing to put real names and locations go it one better and go private with a lottery venture online. Your point about offering an unconditional money-back guarantee on only the first order is strange. Do you think they should allow someone to place 20 orders, and then after they don't win that person should get their money back on all 20 orders? That exact thing would happen. Looks like a nice enough service. Probably the only way to discover whether they're good over the long haul is to get a few moderate wins through them and see them pay.Unfortunate they don't carry more State lotteries. I'd like to buy into the WI lottery occasionally. I'd probably try it through these folks, just as an experiment, though I'll confess I don't trust much of anything that's offered online.Jack

Under how it works they say you pay $2.00 per ticket ($1 to the service). Yet, when you actually click on the button to play (Mega Millions for instance), it says $2.50 per ticket . I don't understand that. Yes and yes -- although diva is correct about the ownership. That's a required legal component. Only a partial owner could act without you being present.

From the website it says they have a 1% ownership in the ticket which is fine by me. The main thing is if they are reliable. I'd far rather give up 1-5% of the winnings then 100% of the winnings from a scam site.
