just: Classic lotto games like SLP are far less popular than in the days before MM and PB. Even the smaller multi-state games (Lotto South, Hot Lotto) don't seem to be catching on.

What I was saying, I want OH to keep MM to have big jackpots. However, I would discontinue the kicker and Ohio SLP. I wished that Ohio keeps Mega Millions, but eliminate the kicker and Ohio Super Lotto Plus. However, why OH is discontinuing Ohio SLP

I think Ohio should discontinue the kicker since their Ohio Super Lotto Plus has retired. For an extra buck, why did OH keep the kicker for Mega Millions? I hope that people in Ohio win some money for the kicker although they lose money in MM.

Well, ah, no. If you're referring to Canada kicker-style games like Extra (WCLC), Encore (OLGC), Extra (Qu bec), or TAG (ALC), then no, Canadian players don't choose their own numbers. They are all Quick Picks.It would be nice to add those games to USA lotteries, but the big trend seems to be towards multipliers, rather than extra games. For example, South Carolina's Palmetto Cash 5, with its standard Pick 5 play, plus optional multiplier.

todd:There have been several Kicker-type games in the US, but only Ohio still has one. Canada has Kicker-style games where you have a choice of which to play with it (OH only with SLP; soon just MM).

I think it's preposterous to knock the Kicker because it's just a QP. That's the purpose of it!!! It is designed to be a quick add-on, not another game where you track past results and pick your own numbers.We should be encouraging the lotteries to try innovative add-ons like the kicker, not cutting them down every time they do not produce games according to Cash Only's cookie-cutter mentality! It would be quite boring if every game was the same.

The K-I-C-K-E-R will not effect the MegaMillions at all. It just that it can only be played by MegaMillions players once the SuperLotto game is no longer played. The KICKER has its own drawings and its own payouts and is not associated with any other game except by being on the same play slip.RJOh

The Kicker should be retired, rather than be transferred to Mega Millions. But this will mean Ohio MM will become slightly different than the other 11 state versions.
