I don't know about other jackpot games, but the Super Lotto Plus in California has a cash value that is always slightly LESS than half of the announced jackpot value.

It only jumped $12 million because the annuity jackpot is now paid in graduated installments so it is greater than it would be if payments were equal.

I was able to respond for the Powerball news thread. I was happy to see annual payments go up slowly each year like CA SLP. I'm also happy they increased the number of WB from 53 to 55. I was a little disappointed that the number of red PB stayed at 42 when I had demanded 45 [From the 5/45+1/45 matric] or 46 [From current Mega Millions].

I'd sort of like to see a long run of first-draw jackpot winners... each $15M ($7.5M lump), all with one thing in common..... all members of LP. Keep the size of that jackpot down until they have to change the matrix again, but have it not help..... those LP members just keep hammering it, draw after draw until someone over there cries UNCLE.... at which time, the LP members advise them they'll take a break, but only on condition that they start putting the actual size of the lump sum jackpot o... The last change in 2002 created a record jackpot 2 months later on christmas so I hope with this new change we see another record come our way.
