Jimmy:Someone pointed out on the Jackpot Forum (I think it was) that while the percentages are going up, they've decreased the chances for the 5x multiplier to hit.... now there's an equal chance each for 2x, 3, 4, and 5x.Probably means they'll actually pay out less while (they hope) bringing in the same amount of PP bucks from players. Seems an unfortunate improvement overall from the individual player perspective.But maybe that's what you intended to point out, and I just got lost.Jack... [ More ]

Well, it is actually better for the 2nd and 3rd tier payouts if there's no jackpot winner. I would be surprised if PB does go over $340 million with this current run and then one ticket winning it all at 365 million.

Now that the lower tier payouts are recieving a little more money, the potential overall payouts have jumped, even though your chance of hitting a 5x has been doubled in odds. 2x - 50% (Unchanged) 3x - 59.85% (up from 58.67%, +1.18) 4x - 69.71% (up from 67.33%, +2.38) 5x - 79.57% (up from 75.99%, +3.58)So with the jump in odds, and the jump in payouts, PowerPlay isn't any better or worse than it was.
