If the program that he's using doesn't have a routine to import data files, then he may be out of luck unless he can create a file that looks like the one the program uses. If the program doesn't use files with an ascii format that can be read with notepad then he's out of luck. Even if they can be read with notepad, they may have control characters in them that can't be seen with notepad. It might be Exel, but he was also trying to put data into the Visual Recurrence Analysis software, I have never used it yet, so I don't know anything about it.

Hi RetxxOpen both files in Excel. You will see them at the bottom of the screen. First Highlight the numbers from your text file , hit control - C.Go to the bottom of the page and click on the other file.When it opens find the first cell you want to put the numbers in.Click on it then hit Control - V. Now go back to your text file and repeat.You can highlight and copy large amounts as long as you match up that first cell.Libra Dave

Sounds like you are using copy and past which is used to transfer data to different locations. Without knowing your program name or its file format, I'm just guessing. If the file is not a text file, anything you copy and paste to notepad and save will be a text file with the name you used to save it.RJOh

thanks I know I have to highlight just the numbers and not use the dates and from there I am stuck. I think it is a text file.

If your pick4 file is a text file (pick4.txt) and your program allows you to import text files then you can load the file by its name. Some program may require you to makes changes (like removing or adding spaces or characters) to the text file before you can import it. Check your program help file.RJOh

exactly how do I add a big file of pick 4 numbers into a program file. need step by step help. I know I have to copy and then change screens from the number file to the program file so i am confused. thanks for any help.
