Yeah perhaps, but is the same case around the world, in France, Germany, POrtugal, Thailand, etc..They all have the same configurations...I think they just borrow the idea and do little research on it..If is been successful in other countries they borrow the concept...that's how i feel...michael brown

What if they made all lotteries similar on purpose, so that when people travel or move to a different state, they still feel comfortable playing the game

HOw come all the lotteries on the the states look the same...Even internationally they look the same...If you did your own research you would have come up with a different lottery configuration and all state would have had different lotteries...But that's not the case, all states have pretty much the same lotteries...some states may vary but the basic design is pretty much the same....This is just one of the some example of why the lottery doesn't conduct much research on lotteries...michael bro... They definitely research some of the implications of lotteries... such as how much revenue they generate. I'm betting each lottery has a researcher who keeps careful track of how much each of their games generate, what potential games are generating better money elsewhere and the implications of the fact they don't have those games, but the adjoining state does.Probably what you 'feel' is correct in one sense or another, but your point's a bit elusive.Jack

Well of course they do it to raise money. It's called a voluntary tax . They never have said otherwise (unless you believe their commercials, and one should never believe a commercial) The govt never does something like this unless they get their payoff. If they weren't making money, they would discontinue the games. The UK Lottery Commission has its own website which has a wealth of information:http://www.natlotcomm.gov.uk/Home/with a comprehensive list of PDF documents at:http://www.natlotcomm.gov.uk/Publications/I don't know if any of it relates to the US lottery experience, I assume some of it must be similar (though the more I learn about the US the more it appears each state seems to run itself as a separate nation

Are you talking about some kind of national lottery commission or something? Each state that wishes to start a lottery does the research as to what is going to keep the people of that state interested in playing the game they do bring to their state. Lottieries are driven by the human desire to win and to get rich . So how much research needs to go into that? That is why lotteries are appealing to people who don't make a lot of money. Lotteries are OUR way of participating in the American Dream...now if we can only strike it rich..

Guys, i feel that the lottery commissions conduct very little research if not any research into lotteries...I feel that they just create lotteries for the sake of raising money and don't even research the lotto implications it could have....I feel that the lottery commision just jack up the odds and don't to their homework...michael brown
