Yep, it's all luck. However, it is bound to happen with California on board, but I think before then, we'll see at least one and at max three jackpots won under $100 million. It is difficult to tell whether the decline in MM sales at all jackpot levels will increase or harm the chances of seeing another $300+ million jackpot. On one hand, less combinations sold means a greater probability of a rollover each drawing, but on the other hand, more drawings to get to $300 million assuming no winne... [ More ]

Funny how MM has not cracked $300 million even though the jackpot odds have now changed TWICE since then. I guess that's how the lottery balls bounce.

Interesting that the California 2nd prize winners got $248,477 -- probably the closest the CA second prize winners have ever been to the rest of the country.(All drawing information can be found at USA Mega.

Ugh! Unfortunately, because there is no data feed of information from Mega Millions, I have to build my own, so when the person entering the info on their web site screws up and makes typing errors, those errors get rippled to USA Mega.Every time I think I've accounted for every possible kind of typing error (on the state lottery's part), they come up with something new. Can someone over there just type the information into the computer correctly, please??Maybe it's because they're staying u... [ More ]

Oops sorry guys. usamega.com is wrong. NY had 6 winners of the second tier prize for a total of 23. That changes my first post. The new number also makes a lot more sense.Brad

I just realized another interetsing fact. Washington which usually sells the least amount of tickets only sold 1.5 million tickets and they had two $250,000 winners. Luck of the random hey.Another interesting side bar.NY Sales: $19,224,457 NY Population: 19,227,088New York sold almost a ticket for everyone in the state. Just short by 3,000.Brad

Quite a bit of them at 17. But I can't believe New York didn't have any. They sold over 19 million tickets the most of any state and they had no second tier winners. I find that very odd. That had to have been like the only five white ball combo they didn't have covered.Congrats to the winner in NJ. It has been a long time since they had a winner in that state right?Well it was a good run. Almost 90 million tickets were sold for this drawing which still left over 80 million combos left. I... [ More ]
