The time to work on your strategy is when the jackpot is low. When the jackpot reaches $250M, it's time to apply it. Even plans to put together a pool or friends or coworkers to play should have the rules and details worked out before then to eliminate confusion in case of a win.

one player i knew about said you play same numbers for 5-10 years,you will win sometime.i look at old numbers every draw,they're not even close,and now they've changed the numbers,impossible odds

Its not chicken feed by a long shot, (i would take $10,000) its just that you know it will be there, its the least you can win, if you play to win.....its when the jackpot starts climbing and the sales start growing and the odds of it rolling over go from 90% down to 50%, thats when you feel the most pressure to be right when you pick you numbers, you feel that time is running out on you, eventually it will get to the point where you know if your not right chances are good that someone else will... I think the appeal of 12 million lacks something especially combinded with the fact that 3 days earlier you were playing for 250 mil...and now your a little upset that some one else won what you were playing for..... Its like football, 12 to 50 million is 3/4's of a season,,,50 to 100 is the race to the playoffs, 100 to 200 million is the championship game and 200 to ? is the superbowl, as long as no one else wins I feel that i am still playing in the superbowl.....if some else wins, I feel like... I have no plans to keep the thread alive. MADDOG plans to revise it when the jackpot is $20M and that good enough.

If the challenges were part of the LP predictions, the numbers would have to be posted in a fixed manner so the LP program could read them. If they are posted with similar restrictions in the jackpot section they can be copied and pasted into a program that will do the calculation without any additional work. The program that I wrote in Basic prefer the numbers to be in a string$ of a fixed length with each number showing two characters and a space after each per example: 01 05 10 21 35 40 45 a... I'd really like to see the challenges for MM and PB become part part of the LP under predictions. I'm sure it's a burden to do it manually every week. If it hasn't already been said..Thanks Maddog. Thanks for the great idea and thanks for taking the time for all of us.

Yep, that's why I decided to just stick with one multi-state game (Powerball, since it happens to be in my state) instead of switching whenever one has the bigger jackpot -- the second prizes are still the same regardless of jackpot size. I still play Mega whenever its jackpot is at least $250 million though.

I personally find the challenge on this website to be a group of folks fond of winning and truly placing their faith in their own systems of numeric studies. Keep the MM challenge going! I miss the PB challange as well.

Has the MegaMillions Challenge lost its appeal now that the jackpot is down to $12M? In moststates the payoff are the same as they were with a big jackpot. If you could be happy with a5+0 for $250,000.00 when the jackpot was $250M, you won't be any less happy with it now thatthe jackpot is $12M. Good luck to those who are playing tonight.RJOh
