I think I would be happy if mega millions was over $400 million and some one won. I don't play mega millions so if it got higher than that I would not go and get a ticket. The only time it is bad is if I miss out on a prize level because I like to win just like everybody else.

I would be disappointed if I didn't win the jackpot. However, I would be happy to see one ticket win the PB or MM jackpot and shatter the North American record for lotto jackpot [multi-state] of 363 million.

When someone else wins a jackpot I usually wish it were me, but I don't get upset about it. I don't know them and they don't know me. Plus I'm not one of those people who has to have the jackpot up in level-breaking payouts to play. So someone winning a bigger jackpot would be the same to me as someone who won a smaller one.

I doubt it would get to 500 million. So since I was already buying tickets I would be somewhat upset someone won and I didn't but having played lotteries for a long time it would hardly be anything new for me. The only time I would get upset at the actual winner would be if I knew the person and knew that they were an ass. I'd rather find out they are another Jack Whittiker from the news then have someone close by gloating.

I'm happy when I win or if someone chooses cash. I'm sad if they choose annuity of if they're forced to receive periodic payments.

I doubt if many players of the MM lottery are happy when someone else wins the jackpot regardless of the amount, but if they get sad every time someone else wins, they're probably going to be sad for the rest of their life. Personally I don't care either way unless it's me or a loving and generous family member or friend and then only if they plan to share their winnings with me.

I'd have to temper my happiness for the person who won it with indifference over whether it was 500 billion or 500 million. I've looked around inside myself and can't find any element of concern about whether a jackpot's humongous or merely a large one. Even if I won it I doubt I would care. 20 million bucks is squared or cubed what I've ever seen, free and clear.I honestly don't understand why anyone would care whether someone else won a 500M jackpot, unless it was a direct line of inheritanc... If the MM jackpot was only one roll away from $500 million and someone won, would you be happy for the person(s) who won, or be mad and or sad that we don't get to see a $500 million jackpot
