Until the naturalist revert us back to the pre-horse days, enjoy the freedom of being an American. If you want a Vet, powerboat, or a 10 passenger SUV, and can afford it, buy it, own, be proud of it. I smile every time a Mercedes 500, Lincoln Navitgator, or BMW 745 rolls by on the road. That is an American being an American. Let the bleeding hearts live in the woods and hug the trees. I'm staying at the Hilton and taking long hot showers

When lotteries first started in the U.S. and there were only a few states that had them, I would read about people taking plane trips to New York or another state with large lottery jackpots, buying a bunch of QPs and returning to their state and distributing them for an increased price. Now days that most states have a major lottery or one in an adjacent state and online ticket services like PTS, that doesn't happens any more.

Yes, I could drive, but I simply don't have the time to do so, and the difference in cost is too small. At about $3.20 per gallon for gas (Corvettes need premium gas), it is simply not worth the drive. But the time factor is the biggest reason. I'm not able to take 2 hours out of my day just to buy lottery tickets. How would anything get done here if I did

Todd: Aren't you close enough to drive to PA to play PowerBall? Then you would know it was bought in a tax free state, and probably cheaper than on-line. Twenty tickets would cost $20.00 in PA, The on-line for the same count would cost $50.00. I plan on driving the 50 (25 each way) miles Saturday - and again Sunday if no winner Saturday. I consider it a break from my normal life.

There are federal laws against transporting lottery tickets by any form of common carrier to a different jurisdiction (other than where the ticket was purchased). The only way you could do it would be to hire someone to personally fly to the USA and come back with tickets. That would not be considered as common carrier .

Anyone planning to play at Prime Ticket Service should get their orders in immediately. I got mine in this morning. When the jackpot is huge they have been cutting off sales early. It's actually one of the things I like about them -- if they feel their sales are beyond their capacity they will cut off sales, rather than keep taking orders for tickets that possibly can't be bought. Based on the current jackpot, I would not be surprised if it was an entire day early.(Click the link on the left... [ More ]

(15+26+1 (the ACTUAL PB) = 42). With this rollover and now 290M pot it is reasonable to expect the next 2nd place teir will have MORE than 15 winners thus further narrowing the possibility of subsequent rollovers until there is a hit.
