But who would do that? There may be a few lottery winners who would participate in a show like that, but I think in reality, that most winners want to keep a low-profile and not announce to the world that they won the lottery.

The idea would probably have gone over better if it were a reality show that dealt with how winning effected real people and their lives.

Chewie, I just thought the idea of a show about the lottery was a neat Idea. It looked like something that people who are interested in all things lotto might want to see. In no way do I think it will be award-winning. It might be entertaining, it might not. I Just thought I would point it out to people. No harm in that.

Or perhaps add survivor to the mix. For some strange reason this lottery (or the trust) has rules that only the survivors get to keep the money so they just start killing each other off with the audience voting who should die next.

This is NBC were talking about. One half a stumblling step ahead of CBS on credibility. Luke Perry, that award winning thespian from Beverly Hill 90210 fame as the lead? Even worse, FOX dumped it. The network of The Simple Life fame. Bart Simpson will be sooooooo horrified. The only chance it will have of success, is if it is filmed in Smallville.

Since I don't watch TV I guess I will miss the promos and the show. 386 million split 20 ways as a post tax (the full 35% since you are dreaming if you think you'll pay only 25%) lump sum would only be 7.5 million (assuming MM more generous cash prize) or 482,500 as a 26 year annuity (less if it's Powerball). I would think that the creators would have talked to at least a few winners to get info for characters and storylines, but it will probably be a bit Hollywoodized . lol.

the promos have been airing here for about three weeks. Looks to be interesting, hopefully it will be based on some actuall winners antics and ways in which they vested wisely.

Has anyone heard about this besides me? I saw the commercial for it for the first time yesterday. It looks like an interesting concept. It was originally suppose to air on FOX but they dropped it and NBC picked it up.

There is going to be a new tv series on NBC called Windfall. It deals with a group of people winning the lottery.Synopsis:A dollar and a dream prove a potent combination when a diverse group of friends, colleagues and strangers toss a buck into a hat and wake up lottery winners the next day in WINDFALL, the new one-hour drama about 20 people who win on a ticket worth $386 million.I believe it airs November 1st.
