Jackpot fatigue affects all of us!I can clearly remember driving down the street last summer, and seeing a Powerball jackpot displayed on a sandwich board on the sidewalk for $103 million, and thinking WOW, $103 million! Those days are long gone

The reason PB, MM, and CA SLP is in a jackpot fatigue because gas prices are in all time high. Also, people are playing less lottery games because the odds are stacked against them about the matrix changes. In fact, my dad and I have stopped playing MM and CA SLP until the jackpots are very high.

It doesn't matter one bit about the size of a jackpot to a Gambler ! And I'm a gambler! I gamble what I can afford to lose and not one penny more than that! So, I gamble on the lottery and if I win, that just makes it all the better

glad the topic sums up just about how I sense things to be. I'm so *tired* of PB not hitting. After awhile it gets old knowing that Yet again the numbers played on our group ticket didnt gel out a break even pay.Yet its said that persaverence pays, so we shall see. Other wise Im knocking on Persaverences' door and demanding my money back! *grin

Unlike the jackpot games, pick3, pick4 and scratch-off games have the same odds of winning about the same prize all the time so once a player become interested in one of these games, he's likely to play it regularly. Most states report these are their most profitable games. Jackpot games appeal varies with their jackpots size. Until that size gets big enough to be covered by the local news, a lot of potential players aren't interested.

the local news media didn't report about the Powerball drawing and the ticket sales until this weekend. the media doesn't report on the lottery until there seems a lot of interest at the retail outlets, and there doesn't appear to be a lot interest unless the media starts to report it. it's difficult to say which comes first, but they seem to be mutually reinforcing.going many weeks without winners is also going to result in less publicity for the game. fewer winners means less publicity whic... Used to be when jackpots got up around $200M, they would make the evening news even if tickets were sold out of state. I'm always surprised when I mention I'm plannig to buy some lottery tickets by the number of people who ask me what's the size of the jackpot. The last time I mention it, some people assumed I was talking about the PB and asked me to pick them up some tickets. I was talking about MM which is sold locally and they didn't know about it. Yea it is probably more then one reason, but I still think many people won't buy tickets unless the jackpot is really high.

It seems that lots of people won't even bother buying a ticket unless the jackpot is huge. But I can't really blame em'. The odds are really stacked against the players.
