Actually Pluto can be closer than Neptune since Pluto's orbit is eliptical. Really you are right on the odds though. They are both very, very unlikely so the difference is pretty much meaningless.

I said my comment about the odds with tongue firmly in cheek. Yes, Powerball's odds are better, but it's like saying that Pluto is farther away than Neptune. Yes, it's farther, but both are unimaginably far away.

When either PB or MM jackpots get around $300M, even people who don't regularly play the lotteries like to have a ticket just to be in the game.

I have PB where I am (Delaware). But I can play MM too, If i'm willing to make the 20 mile trip (40 round trip) to Marydel, Maryland! I didn't play MM tonight, but you can bet your bottom dollar if it wasn't hit tonight I'll be playing my numbers on Friday the 21st.

Although those 1 in 146,107,962 Powerball odds are SO MUCH BETTER than the 1 in 175,711,536 Mega Millions odds

Like everyone, I have been caught up in the Powerball frenzy. Why forget about the Mega Millions? It is sitting there at $90M maybe someday money and $53M real money. How much do I really need? I'm thinking that $53M, minus some chnage for taxes, would go a long way to finding Uptopia. Besides that, with a win, I could sneak in, under the radar of all the Powerball hoopalah, and no one would know I even exist. Is there something unclean about $53M? No one seems interested in it.
