There were 21 winners of the 5+0 tier in the last drawing. With bonus pool at $ 20 million and more players in this drawing, it probably won't cause a huge bump in the 2nd tier prize, perhaps 50-100K.

Perfect example.$18 million jackpot generating....$11 million in sales? Entirely probable. However, with any record jackpot, sales of around $150m+ someone is going to win a prize with odds of 3.4 million.

Back in February, someone from Idaho won an $18 million annuity jackpot, and there were also no match 5+0 winners for that drawing.

I have never seen a single Powerball or Mega Millions drawing without at least one match 4+1 winner.

If the money rolls down to those with only a Powerball, heads will roll - and about a million or so lottery players will be volunteering for the head chopping squad.

It is very likely that the 5+0 will get the Match 5 Bonus prize in lump sum. There's a chance that a few people may win $1 million or more if a jackpot is hit.

The Powerball site doesn't even mention what would happen with no 5+0 or 4+1 winners. The statistics say it just cannot happen, ever.

What if there are no 4+1 winners? Does it roll down to 4, then 3+1? Although most likely impossible, could it go all the way down to being shared by those who just match the powerball?It could, but then again it would be statistically impossible.

Yes, the bonus pool would roll down to the 4+1 winners if there were a jackpot winner(s), but no 5+0 winners. That's almost statistically impossible, pretty close to the odds of winning Powerball on just one ticket

According to MUSL's website, the prize is split among all 5+0 winners. If there are only 2, then yes, those 2 would split it, and ONLY those 2, and it would be a lump-sum, NOT an annuity. The jackpot winner gets NO PART of the bonus pool - this is why it is called Share the Winnings. If no one matches 5+0 (assuming the JP is hit), the prize will go to the next lowest tier with winners.

...in tonight's drawing, there is only 1 winner with a bizarre set of 5 numbers and only 2 people also match the first 5 bizarre numbers. Does that mean those 2 would share the extra money in the bonus pool? What if (and I know this will not happen) the winner is the only person to only have the first 5 numbers and hit the powerball , would the extra bonus pool also go to that person, or move down to the third tier prizes?
