Yea no crap. It is always those who do not even care, or know that they won. Or those who just happen to pick up a ticket at the last minute. In fact most of my lucky for life 4 number hits were just that, last minute whims. I almost threw all my stat tracking, and other systems out the window after that. Both games attempt to balance the odds with the population (player base). They should both hit approximately as often as the other.

No, because Mega Millions has more players than Powerball. However, Powerball has 30 million less combinations than Mega Millions.

With Powerball being played in 29 States as opposed to the 12 States for MegaMillion and million or more people playing, it's inevitable that hits will come more frequent. (I think):-)litebets

It will be interesting to see who claims their jackpot first.But I believe someone in MO just had dumb luck to win it. The odds of a rollover were still very high. This should only happen once in a while.Brad

I got one QP because I did not take it too seriously this week. I was hoping that would actually make the difference. I was sort of close too, and not bad for only ONE ticket. My numbers were 4-10-11-25-43 [23] Winning numbers 6-11-14-27-41-[20

So much for the new matrix decreasing the number of winners. However, as long as I don't win, there can never be too many winners. It's a slow cycle of death - Powerball gets too many winners; it hurts sales; they increase the matrix; it temporarily hurts sales even further, which leads to more rollovers, which leads to a super-sized jackpot, which causes sales to go back up, which gets the winners back, and Powerball's back where they were before they changed the matrix.
