i think a computerized drawing would be more random than a ball drawing, but nothing is really random not even the lottery.

absolutely not (then again, mega millions isn't sold here in new mexico -- that i'm aware of -- so its a personal moot point for me on that one). people will still play, hope always springs eternal (because, again, someone has to win)... i just wouldn't be one of them. at least balls can be physically investigated if there was indeed physical tampering. but computerized? we've already seen what happens when votes are tabulated by computer, and there is no paper trail to explain why more vote... I would still play, but I prefer ball drawings to computerized drawings. Ball drawings seem more fair to me.

LOTTOMIKE, I choose no. I don't like MM and PB become computerized. If they are, there won't be any new North American jackpot records. I hope the MM run gets above 363+ million.

I could not care less what they use. I am interested in the reward, not how it got there. Figuring, some one has to win, it could just as well be me. Like the logo says, no play no win. The fewer of you, the better my chance. Ask any previous winner, and I am sure they couldn't care less either. Money is Money.

I had forgotten about the LA draw. I don't stay up for the draw; except on special ocassions. Like maybe twice. The dog gets mad if I stay up past 10:00 PM.

I think they only did that because it was when NY joined MM... When CA came on, they did the draw in Hollywood (with Onyx machines, the balls are celluloid and they are too b o u n c y in the chute)... Carrie Underwood and Glen Burns did that draw. The CA lottery and the VA lottery websites have videos of that draw. Don't get me wrong, bouncy is good, but too bouncy and you can't read the numbers for a few seconds because the ball is going back and forth seemingly infinitely.... [ More ]

Absolutely no way!if they computerize the PB I am done with it. There is no reason to, they make more than enough profit to support the multiple machines/ballsets they currently use.unless of course they fully disclose the source code...

Ball drop drawing or nothing for me. I want to see them fall, spin, tossed around, be randomly selected by the machine, not the some RNG behind closed doors in cyber land.Neither game would ever get a penny from me again.

I'm wondering when they will turn the ball drawings into a marketing event. When MM finally breaks 300 they could have the drawing in Times square (which they did for the 290 roll) or Hollywood.

I would still play powerball if the drawing was computerized because of the prize they offer because I don't have millions of dollars. I would continue to play for the millions they are offering up in prizes.

It's the principle of the thing.
