I'm sure more of the regular population would also choose to say anonymous, but the people in charge will not allow that to happen. They need to prove that real people like you and me can and do win the lottery.

If you are talking about winning millions of dollars, I have to assume you have zero concept of what millions of dollars are! How much do you make? $50K a year? If you never spent a penny of fifty thousand dollars, you would have to work twenty years to make only one million dollars. Most winners (2nd prize and lower) are anonymous if they chose but I think most states avoid giving jackpot winners that choice because losers want to know who won the jackpot if I didn't? . When jackpot winners are slow coming forward, losers complain and once in a while some even claim they've won but lost or misplaced the winning ticket.Winners of lower level prizes even though some of them are quite large aren't required to accept their winnings publicly but in the case of the second prize... I just wonder, what is the ADVANTAGE of everyone knowing you won? The only one, and that would be short lived, was to make a lot of people envy your luck. And, personally, I'm in no hurry to have a bunch of ex-girlfriends hunting me down. They're ex's for a reason! For me, I'd rather think of reasons to tell the boss I was leaving the job.

You probably can't avoid some media coverage at the outset. If the harrassment persisted, I would probably seek the assistance of an attorney to limit direct interaction with the lottery agency, the media, and other outside parties, and possibly seek out a private detective agency for advice on measures to reduce my family's visibility and improve their security. You now have money. Use it to get expert help.
