Actually you are playing two lotteries when you play MegaMillions or any similar game. With MegaMillions one lottery is 1:3,819,816 with a prize of $250,000 and the other is a 1:46 lottery with a prize of $2. Some time I think one might do better to just play to win one and consider the other a bonus if you get lucky.

Thanks, RJOh.Sounds like you're on to something there. I've done a search for this topic and it doesn't seem to ever have much legs. The bonus ball games seem to me like you have to win two lotteries at once.

time*treat,Yes. Since I usually play 20 lines for MegaMillions, I play 20 different megaballs with the most common characteristics of the last 50 megaballs. Right now, most megaballs have not repeated in the previous 12 drawings and have hit 5-11 times in the last 370 drawings. With 20/46 odds and using those characteristics I usually hit one 75% of the time. Those characteristics change so I review them every time I play. When I play the PowerBall I do a similar review of powerballs which ac... [ More ]

I played fifty lines again and didn't win the jackpot either, but I'm glad I had a chance to play. Some times talking about a system and playing it on paper isn't good enough, it has to be tested using real money in the real world to have any real value. Winning 50% of my cost back isn't winning a lot but it's better than winning nothing. I'll continue to test and adjust my system and be ready when the RC5 jackpot reach this level again. Since all the games (MegaMillions, Rolling Cash5 and P... [ More ]

I'm glad I couldn't play my 182 numbers tonight!! With the lowest number drawn being a 25 I don't think I even had any tickets with 3 correct. I saved a lot of money! The jackpot has gone down, so I guess there is a winner (or more)! I surely hope it was someone from Lottery Post. It wasn't my sister.

This size jackpot only happens a few times a year with these odds. Most pick5 games have similar odds but their jackpots don't roll or they hardly ever get over $300,000 before they are won. This game replaced Buckeye5 which was a 5/37 game with a fixed jackpot of $100,000 per winners up to 10 and if there were more than ten winner they shared a million dollars prize.

It's a lot harder to buy 14,000,000 tickets than 575,757 tickets. Years ago there was an investment group that tried to buy all the combinations in a Virginia lottery that had about 10M possible combinations. They won the jackpot but using a group of people and the terminals at two 7/11 stores for three days, they only managed to buy 8M of the combinations.Virginia changed their rules after that to limit the time one group or person can control a ticket terminal if others might want to use it.... [ More ]

I know that California changed their Super Lottery (added more numbers) to make the odds 41 million to 1 rather than the 14 million to 1 it used to be. There was a guy that was buying all the tickets (and winning) when the jackpot got big enough that he would make money even if he had to split it with other people. I don't remember exactly, but I think that he would still make money if there were 3 winning tickets. The trick was buying all the tickets in time. He had a lot of people that wer... [ More ]

Ohio Rolling Cash5 rolled to $639,000.00. The odds of winning the jackpot is 1:575757. If some one was to play all 575,757 combinations and be the only one to win the jackpot they would win:match 5 x 1 for jackpot $639,000.00match 4 x 170@$300 for $51,000.00match 3 x 5610@$10 for $56,100.00match 2 x 59,840@$1 for $59,840.00Total winnings of $805,940.00 equals a profit of $230,183.00 or a 40% return per day on their investment.
