Hi, I never give out tickets because that is the one time of the year except for my Birthday that I buy a ticket a day till Christmas Eve.,begin buying my tickets on Dec/1 ,i have been doing this every year and i have won some money every year, it is fun,hope to win this year too

You can buy season tickets, as gifts, from the Massachusetts lottery. They have Holiday specials and it doesn't matter where you live, or where where the gift recipient lives. They are shipped by courier and they charge extra for that. In NY give Mega Millions tickets and/or Instant Take Five scratch tickets ($1 each) as gifts. Do NOT buy a NY Lotto subscription as the payout is only 40%.Elsewhere all games are good except MA Megabucks, OR Lose for Life, PA Unlucky for Life, and various annuity-only scratch games (including lifetime prizes).

I've given my mother a scratch off ($10) holiday scratch off and she was thrilled. Of course I gave her another gift. In my opinion they are great stocking stuffers;however, I don't think they make great gifts.

Anyone see Matchstick Men with Nicholas Cage? There was a lottery scam in the movie. I hate it when people give away info on movies, but this won't spoil the flick. The scam was to purchase a lottery ticket on the 22nd of the month with the winning numbers of the 2nd. Then the 2 on the ticket was carefully scratched off the date. I wouldn't give lottery tickets as a gift, because they usually lose. I gave out lottery tickets one time. I bought a quick pick with 5 lines. Copied the quick picks to a play slip and all the rest qot a ticket with the same exact lines.If it was a winner everyone won.

I've never given lottery tickets as a Christmas present to anyone other than my wife. Ok well lets turn this all around. How do you feel about getting lottery tickets as gifts? Personally I would not mind at all. So if someone plays the lottery as a hobby, is that more justifiable? Yes I have received them along with other packages in the past, never alone. Funny how a losing ticket is considered detrimental, but if it was a huge winner it would probably be in the news.

I probably won't, not because I don't want to see my family winning and me not winning, but because they're already pretty sure I'm obsessed with the lottery. And if I give them tickets as presents, they'll start thinking I have an addiction (they don't know anything about addictions, as you can see).

Funny once my friend gave his brother one of those prank lottery scratchers for Christmas. It was a $100,000 dollar instant winner. He sat there and stared at the ticket for awhile, you could also see him wanting to burst because he assumed he won. He then casually put the ticket in his pocket and said Ah another loser. LOL! I've given lottery tickets for years. Never gave one that won over $10.00. I always felt disapointed that they didn't win more. Mostly scratch-offs. But I have given jackpots games too. Usually 1 ticket. Maybe as high as 5 tickets. But always in addition to a regular gift - not in place of.

I gave some scratch-off tickets to a friend once and she won $25 bucks. I also received a bunch of scratch-offs for christmas one year. But I really prefer not giving tickets to others for christmas, most just don't want that type of thing.

I would never give a lottery ticket as a gift and wouldn't want to receive one either. But if I did, I wouldn't expect anything back if it was a winner. That would be like giving someone cookware and expecting her to cook for me. A gift shouldn't have strings attached.

The only lottery tickets I give as Christmas presents will be as presents to myself. Normally I buy one Powerball ticket, but when Christmas rolls around, I will also buy one of every one of the other online games except pick 3 and pick 4 (ie, Hot Lotto and Iowa's $100,000 cash game).

Personally, I don't give out lottery tickets as holiday gifts for a couple reasons.1. They only last a few seconds, as opposed to a movie or CD, which can last a lifetime.2. What if nobody wins anything? Then you've spent all that money, and technically not given anyone anything for the holiday.Lottery tickets make nice presents for those that you are not really close with, but for family and close friends, you want to get them something that will last more than a few seconds.

I meant also by multi-millions by giving someone a few powerball QPs, or any other jackpot ticket, not necessarily Scratchers. I used to see people give others like 10 powerball QPs, as well as scratchers. Scratch offs seem to be the most common though, probably because the giver can actually deal with the return if the person they give it to wins

Yes I give scratch off tickets and I have given them to others and they have won a nice prize on them, like 50 bucks one time! Scratch tickets don t have multi-million prizes that I know of! Makes for a nice stocking stuff for a family member who might have been hit hard by job closings.A ticket is a gift- Theirs to do with what they want. I'd want them to win! That way I put a smile on their face and didnt give them a dud gift. My boss hands out scratch offs each holiday season, and never once has he asked for a cut in it.
