Yep, faster rolling jackpots. However, Powerball might increase the matrix again after NC joins, as I've heard rumors that the addition of NC will increase the guaranteed minimum jackpot above $15 million.

The new cap is $365 million before the match 5+0 bonus pool takes effect. However, the new record PB jackpot may fall between $340 and $365 million, in which case there is no match 5+0 bonus pool, but that increases the cap for determining when the match 5+0 bonus pool takes effect on the next great run.

There is roughly a 52% chance, if one uses the data from the recent $340M jackpot run, that the jackpot will rollover 3 more times and approach approximately $170 million. Last year the PB jackpot was hit the day before Christmas and it was only $30 million (as a matter of fact that was split by three players), and that began a lucky string of eight jackpots hit under $50 million, which drove PB to the current 5/55 + 1/42 matrix. With exception of that, every PB jackpot since 2002 (when PB went 5/53 + 1/42) has been at or above $100 million at Christmas time.

it's the christmas season. the jackpot will keep climbing until the saturday Dec. 24th drawing. Then it will be won between then and the wednesday Jan 4th drawing. and then a new jackpot will start to grow. it's always like this. no one's gonna win until they can come up with a heartwarning awwww christmas press release to get more people to enter, buy tickets as gifts, dream a little dream, whatever. same as every year.

Yep, Powerball made it to $100 million. This is the first time since July-August 2003 that it took only ten rolls to make it there!! Mega Millions needs only nine rolls to make it to $100 million.

If it does not, it's my fault :-) . I realistically voted yes. Mega Millions did four times in a row when that game had 11 million less combinations than Powerball currently has.

My vote is for yes. I think PB will roll and go over $100 million on the next drawing. Then on Saturday one PB jackpot winner will be hit. I would be surprised if PB hits a new North American jackpot record in this current run.
