Don't sweat it, Rick and Lantern, I know sometimes the new features take some getting used to. I'm glad you tracked down the feature. I'll continue making it better, and if there is something that needs to be improved, please let me know.

I have added the ability to limit a search by forum, so for example you can now search just the Pick 3 forum if you wish. (Combined with the ability to limit a search by date range.)I'll continue adding features to the search page, and I'll continue posting updates on the Change Log as I go. (Resources menu

The old one pulled up all posts for an author, and did not distinguish the ones he/she started from what he/she participated in as a reply . Just like now.

well...I use to be able to type in a users name...example...enter Dash...and search by author to find all his posts that he authored...now it simply pulls up all his posts that he authored or replied in.....this is not the same as it was....there's a big difference....for dash right now..it shows 214 posts of his...well thats fine..but how many of them did he actually author??? where did that feature go

It's the same clicks. Click the name, then Search for Posts. That's all. Maybe you're not seeing it for some reason, but I don't know why, because the link is the same.

It's funny how fondness makes the heart grow fonder ... and changes things.The old search could not do what you're saying it could. It pulls up exactly the same set of posts that the new one does. Except the new one also shows text captions.

You can do that already. Click Username above the search bar, or click Search on any member's name.

I miss the old way of searching....example...If you go to search my name now....there is not option to search by author or what have you...it simply shows all the posts I either authored or replied in...and to top it all off...you would have to go thru all 43 pages of my posts to see which ones I was the author of....makes searching harder in my opinion...cos it takes longer to find what you are looking for....

I would like to be able to search for all posts just by a particular person or member and I would like to see only that person's posts and nobody elses.Like insteadn of seeing the complete threads with everybodies' post there, I would like to see only a particulsar person's post and nobody elses, like a compilation of only the person's posts and nobody elses posts.

I have made the search better, by allowing you to broaden or narrow your search by time (from 1 week to All History.) It took me a long time to figure out a way to implement the option, but now that I've figured out a way I like it, I'll be adding other options, such as searching by forum.Also, I was thinking of changing the Username search: instead of having a separate search tab for Username, I was thinking of allowing you to enter the Username on the right side (where the date range is), a... Like I said a little earlier, Coming soon the page will be enahanced so that you can control more aspects of the search, including the date range to search, specifying a specific forum to search, and more. I appreciate the feedback, because it tells me that I need to add it back sooner rather than later.

Before I used to always search my username to see if there was any new posts in the topics I posted in. Now it does not show who has posted in the topic last, it only shows my name as the last poster. I actually liked the other way better. On other forums there is a 'view my posts' option that solves all of this, but I never seen that here. Makes navigation tough, and finding your posts along with new replies. Is there a view my posts option somewhere here? Would be ok if the search actually sho... [ More ]

I'll get to it eventually. As you can probably tell, I squeeze in time to work on new features whenever I can, and it's not always that consistent (especially lately). So one day I will get some time to work on the vtracs thing, and then it will suddenly be there. This search feature has been in planning for almost a year now, and I finally got the time (and database upgrade) to do it. (Remember I upgraded the database a couple of weeks ago

I have been hard at work improving the Search page to make it more like Google.You can check out the results of my efforts by clicking Search in the Forums menu.I'm still tinkering with the search algorithms, but I think it's churning out some good (and fast!) results.Some of the highlights are:Much simpler interface - just type what you want and click SearchInterface works just like GoogleYou can now search many more places on the site -- Forums, News, Username (search by Author name), Blogs, a...
