My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.As a footnote, the U-M Children's Facility (Mott Children's Hospital) is probably the best place for an ill child to go. I went there when I was 7 years old for some surgery and they treat those kids like royalty. We in the Ann Arbor Area (and the US for that matter) are extremely fortunate to have places like this for our children to go.Best wishes to your entire family Jorli.Kris

Daniel (and Jorli, of course). I'm so sorry to hear about Gena losing her sight. I know it will be tough on the two of you, but with God's help you can help Gena get through it, too. At least she is alive and losing ones sight is not the end of the world (although it might seem like it right now).My family and I will continue to pray for you and all the medical workers that touch Gena. I will keep tabs on Jorli's Blog for further updates.

Next time she calls, I will ask her what hospital Rick! We never got around to just chatting ....she just gave me the facts and prognosis and what the doctors think. Yes, she is a sweetheart. That is why this is so upsetting to me. Would upset me about anyone on here having to go thru this but when it is a friend of yours, it just hits home more.

I also will keep her child and her family in my thoughts and prayers.Chicago has a few of the best hospitals in the country and especially one for children (I believe it is St. Jude's). Her child is in the best hands possible. May she be healed.Tell Jorli we all said Hi and to keep the faith.

Lantern, I really can't say. That is up to Jorli to tell you all. I am sure she will when she comes home. She does not know when that will be. She called me again late this afternoon. The doctor has requested that her or her husband be with the baby who is in the critical care unit for 24 hours a day. They are taking shifts. Plus Jordan, who is 2 and RAZ (Gena's twin) are there with them. So when one relieves the other, the other has to take care of the other 2 children. My heart so goes... [ More ]

I have been through some tough times with 2 of my children because they were premature and I almost lost them both. I was far away from home with one of them and I felt so alone because the only one there most of the time was me. My husband was in a different city in the same state but we were both in the military and we were not married then so he could not be there with

My prayers are with Jorli......My sister had the same situation at age of 2yrs. She is blind. She is now 28 yrs. old but has had a rough life.....Now she has some intestine problems. I definitely will keep you all updated. She is at the hospital and of course, phones aren't allowed in some areas. She won't leave the baby so her time is limited. If she gives me another call, I will keep you all updated. She does not know yet when they will be coming home. The baby is very, very ill.
