Heres a riddle for where I live and work.1: I am 5 minutes from my workplace to the Official Lottery Headquarters in PA.2: A 60 mill PB claim was made by a lady in my hometown in December of 2003.Its not who you make the check out to so much as how the lottery will make the check out to you! Thanks GameGrl! I think I will take a pass on the bonking however, as I like to actually be aware, and not oblivious to the fact that I hold a ticket worth millions. I am not sure what part of PA you are from, but we Pennsylvanians got to stick together! It they are wise they will wait til January of 2006 to claim it. That way they have all year to cover the 10% Federal tax they'll owe from the cash payout. (The first 25% tax(+3to7%) is taken prior to dispersing.)Anytime its this late in the tax year its wiser to wait and claim in the forthcoming year.

fxsterling-you bring up an interesting concept to create more winners. Since its statistically known that small wins go unclaimed , then by years end that would end up to some wonderfull 2nd chance drawings! $12 million is not exactly chump change. Heck I would even be very happy and content with that amount as a jackpot win. I would expect to see the roll overs rise, if there are more, as the jackpot climbs higher. Then we can have another one of those pathetic first time ever players win again.

Actually it was more like only 21.4 million tickets. Powerball's press release figures include PowerPlay sales as well. The last time Powerball went up $20 million, it was overestimated. With both Powerball and Mega Millions increasing their number of combinations, jackpot fatigue has set in, and it now takes jackpots higher than $100 million to get everyone buying a ticket.
