I don't expect anyone to badger me. I'm not married, no children (and I'm not expecting to marry after hitting the lottery), and my family lives in the south, not New Mexico. I don't have friends -- so to speak -- only acquaintances. Therefore, as far as strangers are concerned, I know how to say, no! Even yet, tell them: all you need is a dollar and a dream -- play it! Since lottery photo opportunities are not required in New Mexico, only your name and your city, that would eliminate some... [ More ]

If I won, I would quietly make a list of all family and friends I would like to give a little money to. Then I would not mention gifts or money for 11 months. In that time, if anyone on the list asked for any money, I would say Not right now and put a check next to their name. When it came time to giving money, all the people who had checks next to their names would receive half of what the others got.

Well when I win the lottery (not if) I think my uncle's on my dad's side of the family would be the beggers. If they can beg me for $5.00 now what's to stop them asking for $5,000 or more and the thing is I have to depend on my student scholarships, grants, and loans to make it now, but that still does not deture them from begging.

No one at all. I have little family, no brothers, no sisters, one parent who I associate with, and do not associate with too many people in general anyway. I am tailor-made for a jackpot win, and perhaps I even planned this for many years ahead of time...I live in a small dead town, and most are oblivious to what is going on around them. You would probably have to walk up to them and say umm hello I am a millionaire....and they would most likely continue walking while mumbling that is nice.

I've thought of this many times. Whom would I tell? I'd want to share my good fortune, but what problems would that create? There's a well known saying No good deed goes unpunished and it's often so true. If you decide to be generous because it's the right thing to do, many people won't think you're giving enough. So do you keep it quiet or take that chance? A lot depends on how much you win too. Maybe I would try to hide my good luck from everyone and give generously when a friend or family... [ More ]

Charities would seem the first ones around with their hands out. Second would be my co-workers no doubt. They figure since they spend 8 hours in my presence that somehow they are entitled to a cut.The irony is I would give to two charities right off . The one is called my left hand the other is called my right. (Just kidding!) I do have some standards to give back to my community hospital and a society that has helped my family during difficult times.
