I personally think the reason that Lotto South did so poorly with the jackpots is because it was only 3 states. As for Powerball in Tn, I had really hoped that when they started a multistate game that they would have went with the Mega Millions game. Seeing that I live on the border to both TN/KY I could play both. I used to play Powerball in Ky but with Tn not taxing lottery winnings I play Powerball in TN. According to VA Lottery.com, lotto south is being replaced with 6+1/42 game called win for life and GA, KY, and VA are still apart of it. Changes coming in february 06.

Kentucky also plays Power Ball on the same night, so I doubt that the launching of Tennessee's lottery is entirely to blame for Lotto South's poor performance. Several people have indicated that they prefer Lotto South over Power Ball because of the lower odds. If a person favors lower-odds games, then why would they care if Tennessee has Power Ball on the same night? Kentucky's sales were affected by the launch of the state lottery in Tennessee in 2004. Tennessee plays Powerball on the same night and that would impact cross-border sales traffic for Lotto South. Lotto South needs to be adapted if it's to accomodate states that have Powerball.

No word yet if GA is dropping out. VA and GA may very well stay with LS because they have MM on Tue and Fri. Lotto South is Wed and Sat (Same as powerball for KY). They need to make the drawings on Monday and Thurs so the Big JP games can have their drawings and the competition wouldn't be as strong.

I don't like change for a different reason, I hate seeing the going ever higher. However, I do wish TN would join a smaller multi-state lottery. That would rock!! Lotto South seems to be history, I think because GA is dropping out, if TN joined it would be great, but doubt that will happen.

Changing the games makes it difficult on those of us who track the history of draws and take them into consideration when choosing what to play. I'd rather see the games stay the same.

I heard they are ending Lotto South which is bad, because I am sick of Powerball odds, I hardly play anymore. I have been spending a ton on Lotto South which is pretty high right now. I want Tenn to join Lotto South but I am not sure what is happening with it, whether it is changing or ending. I know something is happening because you cant buy multiple draws on Lotto South and I have had to drive 2 hours twice a week to buy my tickets. I voted Yes . First off, Rebecca Paul at the Tennessee Lottery has probably the best experience of any of the lottery directors at putting together a multi-state game. After all, she was one of the people who engineered The Big Game, which later became Mega Millions -- the biggest multi-state game ever.Secondly, I think all those states have pretty good ties, although I can't imagine they're ever too happy when one of them steals an employee from another. I disagree. I love to play the instate lotto games. (Such as FL lotto) I get so sick of MM and PB odds sometimes. I know instate lotto game Jackpots aren't as high but I like the shot of winning atleast a million and not having to compete with other states.

Well first off SC said no to any type of instate lotto game. If anything SC and NC could merge and have Carolina Lotto or something like that. GA and TN who knows. At this point it's anyone's guess. GA and VA may very well hang on to LS.

Absolutely not. I also think Lotto South should stop for good. I think each state should stay in their multi-state game, not have their own state lotto.

I voted no they would not work good together. Well, they'd probably work well together, but I'd rather see them go with their own in-state lotteries. IMHO, another multistate lottery wouldn't do well in the Southeast because of the competition from Powerball and Mega Millions.I'd like to see Lotto Georgia return and replace Lotto South.
