What if, instead of playing $10 twice a week, you play ($10 x 2 drawings/week) x (4 weeks/month) x (12 months/year) = $960 once a year? You would have more chances to win, but you would only play on that drawing? Is it worth it? Your thoughts......

That was my reaction, especially for a lottery board. 2005 was a disastrous year for me financially so I cut the number of tickets I purchase in half after a career change. My average would normally be around $20 a week which is a little over $1,000 a year. I don't smoke or drink (much) so I figure even an average of $3 to $5 a day is a cheaper bad habit than people who buy cigarettes or stop for a beer or 2 after work. I was spending almost 40 dollars a month on tickets.. but my dad introduced me to the Multiplay and I didn't know about it. So now I spend 1 ticket x 20 multidraws .. thast about 10 dollars month.. so $120 a year. :) Psycologically, it makes me feel good because I know that theres a ticket in my wallet thats still alive and could be the next winner.

Actually I stopped keeping track in 2005, But I know that in 2004 I spent about $1190 and won rouphly 10% backIn 2005 I know I spent alot less than that by probably 1/2....probably about $5 per draw on the average. And maybe 5% on the return.

learned a lesson this year.....you'll like this it is very interesting.i have made more than i spent since tennessee started its lottery in early 2004.in 2004 i played 486 ten times straight and won 5,000 dollars plus a few other wins win i played a cash 3 number twice and won 1,000.then in 2005 i hit on cash 4 twice since it started in april for 5,000 more dollars.however i blew the money within months of winning on different things........SAVE IS THE WORD.when you win put some some back.if i h... I think of it like smoking (which I don't). A pack a day is a habit, more than that gets dangerous - but that's at my income.I only play very large jackpot games but skipped the 315 mega thinking it would roll. The local lotteries (WA,OR) have had their jackpots in the dumper since switching to computer drawings and I don't bother playing them any more.

I'm into the thousands for 2005. 2003/2004 were good years, and hit two $5K and several $100 games. This year it was almost all losses. Wasn't for some pidly Cash 5, I would have lost 100%. I think some one kidnapped the Lotto Fairy

I play .50 box 2 or 3 numbers every other day , I always play midday . I also spend between 30.00 and 50.00 a year on pick 4 box only when I know it is a sure thing I play . So i win way more then I spend . I spend way under a 1000.00 on the lotto

For all the lottery talk here at L.P. I'm suprised to see ''under a $1,000'' leading the poll thus far. Maybe it's a case of people's selective memory. lol. I was in the $3,500 range last year and although I came out a head It was too much wagered for me. I'm looking to trim that back by a $1,000 or so.

I spent more than I won, for sure... but overall, under $220I mostly stuck to my 1 QP per powerball draw (with powerplay) and had a few small hits... net loss was more likely in the $80 range... errr $100, counting that losing PA raffle ticket
