Congratulations to Ohio on winning the MM jackpot. CA had 3 different jackpots won in a row: A $315 million jackpot by themselves, a $35 million jackpot shared with MI, and an $88 million jackpot by themselves three draws ago and the last draw in 2005 before it was snapped by Ohio in last draw. I think this pattern will end for MM with another 100+million jackpot after three straight jackpots under 100 million. If no one had hit the MM jackpot, it would set a new low under the new matrix of $22

They publish winners names and information so people know that people actually win these jackpots.

Yeap, I agree with RJOh, winning $250,000 may not be the grandest jackpot, especially if we are talking about some players who ONLY play when the POWERBALL or the MEGA MILLIONS is $100 million or more. I would consider myself lucky to match 5+0 for $250K, even if the jackpot was $315M, so I would be happy to match 5+1 any time, regardless of the jackpot size.

That is true, but California, Texas, New York, and even Illinois have their own in-state lotto games that currently have jackpots higher than $15 million and have a lot less combinations than Mega Millions.

Yeah, I'd rather win that than the $315 million jackpot. The after tax cash value of the $15 million jackpot in either PB or MM is enough to be set for life.

In all honesty, I would much rather win at $15M than when it's at an eye-catching level. That's just me... I think that person is Ohio is better off than someone who wins the current biggest jackpot in the land. Chances are the media won't be on his or her story for too long.That's not to say that the $15M winner could do a laundry list of absurd things that will bring about unusual amounts of media attention. Well at least the fall from 15 million back down to 12 isn't so hard to take....I cant stand when they get up to 200 and 300 million and then boom, back to 12 million.....

If people didn't believe they could win when the jackpot was $12M nobody would play and the jackpot would never get bigger. It just fitting that one of the players who believe wins one for a change and let those players who wait for the jackpot to reach $100M before buying a ticket wait a little longer.

Well OHIO again....I wonder if this ticket was around the area the other four tickets were won. First it was a winner triangle then it was a quadrilateral and now maybe a pentagon? hahaI think you can get the fact that this one was won because of the distribution of the numbers. One number from the first ten one from the second one from the 20's one from the 30's and one from the 50's. No, Ohio hit it this time. Illinois has yet to hit it since September 27, 2002. This is unreal - last year Powerball went on a lucky string of low jackpot winners, now it appears it's Mega Millions' turn to go on one. The last time Mega Millions had three consecutive jackpots under $100 million awarded was during the period of July 3 - August 20, 2004; it was won at $47 million on July 23; won at the opening $10 million level on July 27; won at the $52 million level on August 20.
