Coin Toss, are you sure that MM and/or PB stayed at $55 million between the two draws? If so, how?My family wished that MM will leave CA if they win the lawsuit to shut it down. If that's the case, then MM sales will suffer and have no records thanks to CA. I don't play MM unless it reaches $300 million or more. I don't play CA SLP unless it reaches $48 million or more since highest WB is 47.

NO........the jackpot in MM and PB will never get that high again. it was like a once in a lifetime event that it got that high. And after California leaves MMs then the $500 million jackpot can't ever happen. If practice makes perfect, and nobody's perfect, then why practice

Mega Millions may have increased the number of combinations when CA joined, but, due to CA's enormous population, the chances of it rolling over on any drawing did not really change.

The problem is greed. As soon as it hits the high one hundred million, a lot of people jump on board. When it reaches the low to mid two hundred million, every one jumps in. The more $200M+ winners, the more hype for the next $200M+ train that comes along. When it gets to $300M+, millions will be standing in line that weren't there for the $200M+ numbers, and those that were there for the $200M+ will double their bets.If it was a slow growth, it would have a chance to reach $500M. How can anyone predict the answer to this poll? With the addition of CA to MM the jackpots have not increased as was suggested by Lottery officials. I'm still waiting for the 500 million jackpot they were predicting when they changed the MM matrix BEFORE CA joined the group. It hasn't happened yet and hasn't even come close. The reason is that the more tickets sold when the jackpot is high, the more likelihood of all combinations being covered.No vote from me but good luck to all that play it.... [ More ]

I pick maybe in 2006 as my vote. I think PB can reach 365 million if no one keeps winning. In MM, it's possible only if there are no MM jackpot winners and keeps rolling.

A lot of people were aiting and waiting for California to come into MegaMillions.When it did, they added more numbers, top and bottom, and the odds increased from 140,000,000:1 to 176,000,000:1. Whoop tee do. The US should take a hint from Spain's El Gordo and have a lot more winners instead of one mega-winner.

I picked maybe. It's all the luck of the draw. It is hard to predict which one will break its previous record first - on the one hand, Powerball generally has the better chance of rolling over on any drawing because of its lower sales to odds ratio, but on the other hand, the Mega Millions jackpot does not have to survive as much drawings to get to a new record.
