Well, u just choose it. You say, I want a Mega Millions and Lotto, annual payments option for both.

on txlottery.org, they always put CVO or AP next to the winning ticket. I have yet to see AP, until I win Mega millions or Lotto.

TX (and where I live, NY) still has that stupid rule requiring players to choose cash or annuity when they play. More NYers and Texans would collect in lump sum if players could choose after winning.

When I lived in Louisiana, I was about 35 miles from the TX border. I drove there sometimes when I felt lucky. I live in NM now and I'm about 25 miles from TX. I'll get tickets while I'm there. But that's not the primary reason I go there and I go pretty often.

For MegaMillions I travel once a month to Maryland. Get my plays and go shopping at White Marsh.

Its a 35 minute jaunt from my town to the Mason Dixon line.

Its being debated that since I joined a ticket service I might use them to save on gas and travel time. After all, time is money!

I play MM in MD or NJ. When the JP is over 100 million I make all my runs to NJ (no state tax on winnings). Unlike MD (the thieves). Besides the family and I make a day out of it when going to NJ for MM tickets.

Back in the fall time when Powerball was up to $300,000,000 I drove from my town in Michigan to the Wisconsin boarder to buy Powerball tickets. It was actually quite nice though because it was the time of year when the leaves were changing so it wasn't bad at all. I ended up doing it twice for both drawings that were over $300m. It it about a 2 hour trip one-way so it isn't a small jaunt.Brad

kool goldrush...I live here in CT...Mass. is about 45 mins away. I have never played MM but, was thinking of trying it this year since I'm only a state away. I do go to NY and NJ to play when I'm in the area. Never travel to buy tickets. If I lived further north, I'd probably drive to GA to buy a MM ticket once in a while, but in GA you can only purchase advanced plays for 10 draws (5 weeks) unless it's changed since I last checked. Not really worth the trip. FL is a very long state and I live on the SW Coast, so I don't bother since it would be about 6 hours, which is crazy. I'd be spending over $75 in gas roundtrip. Most of the time I buy my tickets locally, within a couple of miles.... [ More ]

No lottery here in Alabama, so I've got no choice but to drive. Both the Georgia and Tennessee states lines are a little less than two hours drive from where I live, with Georgia being a little closer. Florida is about 4 hours away, so I don't make it there very often.Over the past three months I've been to Georgia 5 times and and to Tennessee 3 times.

I drive about an hour and twenty minutes to Sturgis, MI to get my MegaMillions tickets. I only go when the jackpot reaches eighty million or more. Hopefully, I'll be making that trip again pretty soon; I still have a few winners I need to cash in.
